Small Power Boats make up the majority of the boating population. Small craft duck in an out of fishing hot spots, navigate shorelines, bays, brackish inlets and lakes all over the globe. Just because they're small craft doesn't always mean they are a small price. People often spend thousands and thousands of dollars on their boats. Many of the boats below can be built for less than one thousand dollars (2010). If you go for all of the bells and whistles, they cost more but just consider the charge from the manufacturer for the "extras". People use these boats for cruising, fishing, crabbing and hanging out on the water. Some of these boats, like the Indian River, can also be outfitted as row boats. By using the foam, you can make several of these small craft unsinkable. Of course, they mean that it won't sink even with the worst onboard leaks. However, speaking as an x-military pilot, I am certain they don't mean unsinkable as in resistant to explosives. I only bring it up because I've read some of the Darwin award stories and don't want anyone to read into the "unsinkable" boat option too much! Just because you add the adhesive foam to your boat does not mean you can strap a rocket to the back of it and take it into hyper drive! Sorry, I just had to clear the air... some people do some crazy things based on very limited information. One thing I will say is that the website that sells these plans provides very extensive information. A good set of wooden boat plans will save you time and, as we all know, time is money. There boat plans are very detailed and they have a wide selection of boat plans. Most of them use the stitch and glue method. Most of these boats do not require a jig. Furthermore, they will credit the price of the plans if you decide to make your life a little easier and buy the kit.
