Duck Boat Plans are for those people that want to build their own specialized hunting boat. Hunters of waterfowl understand the need to be quietly mobile and be able to move with the ducks. Of course, there are ways to put out decoys and attract the ducks to the location of your duck blind but tracking and moving around in a duck boat adds another dimension to the hunting waterfowl. Of course, there are fully assembled duck boats and hunting boats on the market so if you are in need of a duck boat or hunting boat right now, you can spend about ten thousand dollars and you'll be all set. If you have a little more time, you can look into a set of duck boat plans and build your own. To build the duck boat you see in the pictures, you will need to cost out the marine grade plywood. This boat uses six 1/4" (6mm) sheets (4 ft x 8 ft) and three 3/8" (10mm) sheets (4 ft x 8 ft). The designers call for 7 gallons (32 liters) of Epoxy, 22 yards (20m) of Biaxial Fabric and 86 yards (75m) of Biaxial Tape. Add about four gallons of expandable foam and you'll make your boat unsinkable! Because this boat is built from plywood and then the bottom is fiber glassed inside and out, it's actually lighter and stronger than single skin fiber glass. A jig is not required, scarfing is not needed and the joints are simply spliced with fiber glass tape. It's a basic stitch and glue build which about as easy as it gets when it comes to building boats. If you're a first time builder, this is the type of boat you will want to build. Anyway, if you're a hunter, a do-it-yourselfer and interested in moving your duck hunting operation to the water, this might be the perfect project for you.
